Hypothyroidism causes hyperkalemia(increase in potassium levels) leading to an atrioventricular block, a heart disease. Cardiac manifestations as a result of hypothyroidism are in the form of bradycardia, hypotension(low B.P–low systolic pressure and high diastolic pressure), pericardial effusion(edema), dilated cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure. All the heart-related problems arise due to reduced cardiac output, decrease in stroke volume, heart rate lessened, systolic blood pressure reduced, and drop in pulse pressure.

Hypothyroidism can worsen asthma and other respiratory disorders.

In some patients with hypothyroidism, it is seen they have an increase in cholesterol and triglycerides levels which could affect heart arteries causing atherosclerotic Coronary artery disease(CAD).
